- Qualification to Rent:
- Minimum age of 21 and a valid driver's license of at least 1 year must be
produced. An international driver's license is even better, but a
license from the country of origin is acceptable.
-
- Payment:
- Rental cost is payable in advance at the time of delivery. For visitors
to the island we accept payment via Visa or Mastercard, plus bank charges
of 2.5%. Otherwise, bank counters are available at the airport
where they will have facilities to convert foreign exchange to local
currency thereby avoiding the bank charges noted above, as they could
also pay in US$, Euro or GBP which will be converted at the day's rate.
- Insurance:
- The refundable insurance excess is Rs20,000 for one driver and Rs25,000
for two drivers (roughly £400/600,Euro500/625, or $600/1000 US) and
is held via the same Visa or Mastercard. An imprint is made of the
client's credit card but is not banked. This imprint is returned to the client upon
collection of the car, subject to damages, if there were any.
If the customer wants to reduce the insurance excess to Rs10,000,
an additional, non-refundable Rs200/day will be chargeable at rental.
Please note that loss of personal belongings or damage thereto due to
theft whilst left in the car are not covered.
-
- Miscellaneous:
- The car is delivered to you with a full tank and should be returned in the
same condition. Any difference in fuel level will otherwise be charged
upon collection.
-
We endeavor to maintain our fleet in top condition for our clients.
To this end, any abuse or damage to the car (e.g. stains and/or scratches)
must, unfortunately, be charged for. If, upon return of the vehicle, the vehicle
is found in a state necessitating
thorough cleaning, the client will be charged for this service, varying from
Rs350 to Rs750. Should there
be any stains on the seats, the charge will be Rs 1,500.
-
- Need an infant car seat? Just ask us! For a minimal additional
fee, we can usually help.
-
- Important:
- 1. Cars will be used only by drivers approved by
Exodus Ltd.
Failure to comply will entail a penalty of cancellation of insurance, and the
driver will become wholly responsible for damages to the full extent of costs.
- 2. Damage to tyres and theft of equipment are not covered by
insurance and is therefore the responsibility of the hirer. Remember that
the insurance excess will only be payable if you are at fault in an accident
or if you are unable to identify the guilty party so that we can reclaim the
damages from said party.
- 3. All accidents must be reported to the nearest Police Station within 4 hours of the event,
except for minor accidents where the drivers are not found to be drunk; if there are
only two vehicles involved; no person is injured, no property (walls or railings) is damaged. In which case, an Agreed
Statement of Facts (found in the car) must be filled and counter-signed by both
parties involved. Also, all necessary documents specified on the form
(e.g. driving licence/car insurance) must be present for the forms to be
valid. The driver must use the special chalk (also found in the
car) to mark the position of the vehicles on the road before any of them is
moved to prevent a traffic jam. Exodus Ltd must be notified
immediately, in both cases, nonetheless.
